Treemasters Arboricultural & Forestry: trade website rebuild

Rebuilt in October 2026: a storm-to-sorted scroll film that plays on phones and desktops, his own photos, six working service pages and a quote form that saves every enquiry before emailing it.

Tree surgery and forestry contractor based in Seaham, working across County Durham and the North East. My first ever client, rebuilt in October 2026 so the site works properly and every enquiry reaches him.

The client

Treemasters Arboricultural & Forestry are tree surgeons and forestry contractors based in Seaham. They cover everything from a single overhanging branch to full site clearance and forestry management, and they take emergency call-outs. Treemasters was my first ever client, and in October 2026 he asked for a full rebuild.

The problem

He told me three things: pages were not working, he was not getting any enquiries from the website, and he wanted a full revamp using his own photos.

When I checked, all six service pages were returning "page not found", even though the rest of the site linked to them. The quote form was emailing enquiries from the server with no email authentication set up, so they were very likely being rejected or filtered as spam before he ever saw them.

What I built

  • A storm-to-sorted scroll film at the top of the home page: as you scroll, a garden flattened by a fallen tree is cut up, cleared, levelled and left tidy, and the film plays backwards when you scroll up. It works on phones as well as desktops, with a square cut of the footage framed for a phone screen.
  • A new site built around his own photos: climbers in the canopy, felling, stump work, his truck and chipper and the forwarder. No stock images.
  • Six working service pages at the same addresses as before, so every existing link and Google result now lands on a real page: tree surgery and pruning, tree removal, emergency call-out, forestry management, site clearance and stump grinding.
  • A quote form that cannot lose an enquiry. Every enquiry is saved on the server first, then emailed, and the domain now has DKIM and DMARC set up so the emails are signed and trusted.
  • His real customer reviews, word for word.
  • His blog, carried over at the same addresses.

On a phone

On a phone the scroll film sits under the header with the caption and both buttons beneath it, sized so the browser's own address bar never covers them. The phone version of the film is a smaller square cut that streams as you scroll rather than downloading in full first. Tap-to-call is on every page, a call and quote bar stays on screen, and there is a clear emergency line for storm damage and fallen trees.

The result

Live at treemaster.guru. Measured on Google Lighthouse against the live site on 2 October 2026: mobile performance 99 on the home page, film included, and 100 on a service page, with 100 for accessibility, best practices and SEO, and the main content showing in under 1.8 seconds on a phone. The old site scored in the 70s and 80s. Treemasters own the site, the domain and the content.

“From start to finish, the service was professional, fast, and spot on. They took the time to understand my business and what I needed the website to do. The site loads fast, works perfectly, and already makes my tree surgery business look far more professional online.”
