Terms and conditions

Last updated: September 2026  •  SR7 Web Design, Seaham, County Durham

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions govern all web design, development, and related services provided by SR7 Web Design (“we”, “us”) to our clients (“you”). By engaging our services, you agree to these terms.

2. Services

SR7 Web Design provides bespoke website design, development, SEO, branding, website care, hosting and related digital services. The scope of each project is agreed in writing before work commences.

3. Payments

  • A 50% deposit is required before any work begins
  • The remaining 50% is due upon project completion, before the website goes live
  • Payment is accepted by bank transfer or agreed method
  • Late payments may incur a fee of 2% per month on the outstanding balance
  • Website Care and Managed Website Care fees are billed monthly, or annually where agreed

4. Project Timeline

Estimated timelines are provided in good faith. Delays caused by late content delivery, slow feedback, or factors outside our control may extend the project. We will communicate any delays promptly.

5. Client Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Provide all required content, images, and information in a timely manner
  • Provide feedback within agreed timeframes
  • Ensure you have the legal right to use all content provided to us
  • Designate a single point of contact for the project

6. Revisions

Each package includes a specified number of revision rounds as agreed. Additional revisions beyond the agreed scope will be charged at our standard ad-hoc rate of £50 per hour, billed in 30-minute increments (see section 9.6).

7. Intellectual Property

Upon receipt of full payment, all rights to the completed website design transfer to you. SR7 Web Design retains the right to display the work in our portfolio unless otherwise agreed in writing.

Third-party assets (stock images, fonts, plugins) remain subject to their respective licences.

8. Post-Launch Defect Correction

For 30 days from the date your website goes live, we will correct genuine faults arising from the original agreed website build at no additional charge.

This does not include: new features; additional pages; design changes requested after approval; content changes requested after approval; issues caused by you editing the site; third-party plugin failures; third-party service failures; hosting, domain or email issues outside our control; changes caused by external software, platform or API updates; malware or security incidents not caused by the original agreed build; or anything outside the original agreed project scope.

Anything outside the original agreed scope is treated as additional work, or is covered by an active Website Care or Managed Website Care plan where the work falls within that plan’s scope (see section 9). This clause does not extend the liability set out in section 10.

9. Website Care, Managed Website Care & Hosting

We offer two optional monthly care plans. The plan you choose is agreed in writing and continues until cancelled under section 9.8.

9.1 Website Care — £25 per month

For clients who keep their website on their own hosting. Website Care includes:

  • WordPress core updates
  • Theme and plugin updates
  • Backup checks
  • Basic security checks
  • Routine WordPress troubleshooting
  • Up to 30 minutes of small content changes each calendar month

9.2 Managed Website Care — £50 per month

For clients whose website is hosted by SR7 Web Design. Managed Website Care includes:

  • Website hosting provided by SR7 Web Design
  • WordPress core updates
  • Theme and plugin updates
  • Backups
  • Basic security monitoring and checks
  • SSL management where applicable
  • Routine troubleshooting and fixes
  • General website support
  • Up to 30 minutes of small content changes each calendar month

9.3 Included content-change time

The included time covers small changes to existing content, such as changing text, replacing images, updating prices or small amendments to existing pages. It applies per calendar month. Unused time does not carry over to the following month.

9.4 What care plans do not include

Unless specifically agreed in writing, Website Care and Managed Website Care do not include:

  • New pages
  • Redesigns
  • Custom development
  • New functionality
  • Large content jobs or major content uploads
  • SEO campaigns, unless specifically included
  • Paid plugins, third-party subscriptions or licence costs
  • Faults originating from third-party systems, hosting or services outside SR7 Web Design’s reasonable control

Anything outside the included scope can be quoted separately before work begins.

9.5 Managed hosting

Where SR7 Web Design provides hosting under Managed Website Care:

  • The underlying hosting and cPanel account is operated by SR7 Web Design.
  • Clients do not receive access to SR7 Web Design’s main hosting account where this could expose other clients’ websites or data.
  • Your website and its content remain yours, subject to payment of any outstanding invoices.
  • If the Managed Website Care agreement ends, SR7 Web Design will provide a reasonable WordPress export of your website so it can be transferred to another provider. Substantial migration or technical transfer work may be charged separately.
  • Your domain name should remain registered to you wherever practical.
  • We will use reasonable efforts to keep hosted websites available but cannot guarantee 100% availability.

9.6 Ad-hoc website support

Where a client does not have an active Website Care or Managed Website Care plan, or requests work outside the scope of their plan, ad-hoc website support is charged at SR7 Web Design’s standard rate of £50 per hour, billed in 30-minute increments, unless a separate fixed-price quotation is agreed. This can cover WordPress troubleshooting, plugin and theme issues, fixing website problems, content amendments and general website assistance. Major work, new pages, redesigns and custom functionality are quoted separately before work begins.

9.7 Support availability

Website Care and Managed Website Care do not include 24/7 support or guaranteed response times unless specifically agreed in writing.

9.8 Cancelling a care plan

Website Care and Managed Website Care require 30 days’ written notice to cancel. This notice period applies to care plans instead of the general termination period in section 12.

10. Limitation of Liability

SR7 Web Design’s liability is limited to the total amount paid for the specific project. We are not liable for indirect losses, lost profits, or consequential damages. We are not responsible for third-party service outages (e.g. hosting providers, payment gateways).

11. Confidentiality

Both parties agree to keep confidential any sensitive business information shared during the project and not to disclose it to third parties without written consent.

12. Termination

Where no specific cancellation period is stated elsewhere in these terms, either party may terminate a project or service agreement with 14 days’ written notice. Work completed up to the termination date will be invoiced accordingly. Deposits are non-refundable where work has commenced.

Website Care and Managed Website Care specifically require 30 days’ written notice (see section 9.8).

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
